Feb.1- My Hero February 1, 2012

My hero is Terry Fox. Terry Fox is my hero because, he ran  halfway across Canada  to raise money for cancer reasearch.

Terry Fox was born on July 28, 1958 in Manitoba.

 On March 9, 1977, he notices that he has a tumor in his right leg, so they cut off his leg, but that doesn’t stop him! In April 12,1980 he started his run in St John’s, Newfoundland. Terry ran an a average of 42 kilometres a day through six provinces. Now thats a lot isn’t it for a guy with only one leg?

 September 1, 1980 his cancer spread to his lungs and he had to stop running. After returning home to BC for treatment, Terry passed away on June 21st, 1981.

Every year, around the world people give up time and money to raise money to find a cure for Cancer in Terry’s name.

Even though Terry died 21 years before I was born, His goals and motives live on through me and everyone.

                                                                   

 

My Family January 25, 2012

My family could be anything, astronauts, photographers, anything!

My sister name is Emersyn. Emersyn was a ballet dancer. But she quit, because she didn’t learn a thing. So now my sister doesn’t do any sport, but maybe spring soccer. She likes to watch tv. Her favourite tv channel is Treehouse. She also has red hair like me. My sister carries a stuffed dog called Mr. Fluffers.

My mom name is Sabrina. My mom works at the school that I go to. She is a part-time special needs worker. But she wants to be a nurse. So she took a course to become a nurse.

My dad’s name is Kevin. He is usually away, but is home right now. His hobby is to let people rent a his house in Florida. And his job is driving diesel trucks.

BC Championships January 24, 2012

In the next few months I will be entering the highest level of Highland dance, Premier. I have been training for the passed year and half to enter the championships.

The championships are the highest level a dancer can compete at. If I place in the top six, I will represent British Columbia at the Canadian Championships in Edmonton in July. The Edmonton Championships is being held for a week in the West Edmonton Mall. They are going to take out the ice in the big rink in the mall and turn it into a dance floor.

I have two friends who are also entering the Championships, Xandryn Frost and Emily Walker.

It’s kinda scary to think that Im about to enter the same level of dance as my teacher would compete at. Im lucky to be able to travel all over Canada to dance and meet new friends.

In Honour Of Puss-Puss January 24, 2012

On January 5th, 2012 something happened that changed my life. That was the day my cat Puss-Puss passed away. Puss-Puss lived to be 20 and a half years old.

Puss-Puss was a special cat because we got him when he was two from my grandma, who had moved to Alberta and left him behind. He was very sick when he came to live with my mom and dad, he had heart worms. Once he got better Puss-Puss, got up to 25 pounds and had rolls of fat. He was a funny looking cat , he had no tail and had short front legs and long back legs. He was a Manx breed of cat.

Puss-Puss was a kind cat that loved everyone. He had a special relationship with my dog Bear. They used to sleep together and wash each others faces. Bear really misses him and has been depressed since he died. We all miss him and we hope he has a good after life.

Improving The School January 14, 2012

The first thing I would do to improve the school would be to make more field trips!

If I were a teacher I would make more field trips, and maybe go to places like: Mount Rushmore and Niagara Falls. Maybe even Paris and London! I like to see the historical sites more than sit in a chair and study about the sites. There’s just one problem, who’s going to for the pay gas?

Another one everyone is demanding, a longer lunch. Most students don’t have time to finish their lunch. I know because I don’t even have time to finish my lunch! And if they can’t do that, they should at least switch lunch first and then have recess, because most kids our whining that there starving.

Those are the changes I would make.

The New Member Of The Family January 4, 2012

The new member of the family is a dog, and her name is Zoey. Zoey has a lot of personalities. But the two she’s most known for is exploring and being brave. We first got Zoey we had to go on a short treasure hunt. After awhile we finally found her with our dad.  Santa had dropped Zoey off a day early,because she was swiggling too much in his sleigh. Zoey is a shitizu yorkie who weighs about five pounds. The vet said she should get about ten pounds when she is fully grown. Zoey’s favourite toy is a stuffy which is a tiger.

The other day my mom gave her a bath and she started to swim in the bathtub, she looked so funny. Kinda looked like a drowned rat. Zoey loves to get her hair blowed dried after her bath. She’s nice and soft and smells good too.

Sunset School November 19, 2011

The school I went to all my years (except one year ) was Sunset School. I’m in grade 4. Even though I’m doing grade 5 school work.

My teacher’s name is Mr. Mollinga. Mr. Mollinga knows how to play the guitar and the piano, also other instruments.

One of my favourite subjects in school is art. The reason why is because Mrs. Galitzine thinks everybody can draw and make art.

Another one of my favourite subjuects is D.E.A.R time. DE.AR time stands for drop everything and read. If you read my blog on “Books I Recently Read”  you would see I love to read.  I’ve read more books than that it’s just those books were the only ones that came to my mind while I was writing that journal. I hope you enjoyed reading the summary of these books on my blog.

Books I’ve Recently Read November 13, 2011

In the past I read lots of books. And one of the books I’ve read recently was called Inkheart. The characters were: Meggie, Moe, Resa, Elinor, Dustfinger, Farid, Fenoglio, Capricorn, Basta, Mortrola, Darius and last but not least Gwin. Now that is a lot of characters! Fenoglio was the writer of Capricorn, Basta and Mortrola. Meggie, Moe and Resa are a family that found out about this mystical land. ( Actually Moe reads them out of a book called Inkheart. ) Dustfinger came out of Inkheart but wasn’t a villan. He was a fire-eater. Also Gwin and Farid, Gwin was a horned marten. And Farid was read out of a book too but not Inkheart. Now I think I told enough about Inkheart, maybe I  should tell about a different story I read.

Another book I read was called Henry and Ribsy. Henry is an ordinary boy until he meets Ribsy. Ribsy is a dog that Henry found on the road by the drugstore. When his parents saw the dog they were surprised, but they let Henry have him. Henry and Ribsy went on adventures like: meeting the new neighbours, meeting the neighbours the second, the paper route and Ramona. I’m sorry there is not to much to say about this story. Anyways moving on.

This one was from the same author as the one I last wrote about. Expect this story is called Ribsy. In this story Ribsy gets lost. It all started at the mall. Henry ‘s mother bought a new car and so did someone else. Poor old Ribsy had to stay in the car because there was a sign that said NO DOGS ALLOWED. While Ribsy’s owners were in the mall he saw this other dog that started to bark at him, somehow Ribsy opens the car window and get out. He then chases the other dog. After Ribsy is done chasing the other dog he tries to find his way back to his car. But there is a problem he can’t find his scent because it is raining and he ends up at the wrong car. The other family ends up taking Ribsy home and giving him a bath. They also make up some lost dog posters and put them up. In the end of the story Ribsy ends up back with his family. Stories always end with a happy ending right?
